Luis M Sánchez - Managing Director

Mr. Sánchez has over 18 years of experience in the capital markets, where he has been responsible for structuring investments in cumulative notional in excess of 7 billion dollars. He has been a Senior Vice President with Lehman Brothers’ High Yield EM Group in New York, where he was in charge of structuring and marketing traditional and alternative financial products such as Global Bonds, Credit Link Notes, Commodity Linked Notes, and Credit Default Swap hybrid structures for selected governments and corporations. Additionally, he worked with Lehman Brothers’ Global Financial Solutions and Special Opportunities groups identifying potential arbitrage strategies using film tax credits and pre-sales of film rights in global markets. His career has included executive positions in the Asset Backed Securities, Debt Capital Markets, and the European Structured Products groups of Deutsche Bank in New York and London, and in the Risk Finance divisions of AIG & NetRisk, where he was in charge of structuring, pricing, and estimating credit risk for exotic deals with exposure to intellectual property, catastrophic, and operational risks. He started his financial career in 1993, as Director of Quantitative Trading for Parallax Partners LP, a macro hedge fund based in New York. He was a Harvard LASPAU scholar and obtained his MBA in 1992, and received a BSc in Civil Engineering in 1987 from the University of the Armed Forces of Venezuela.

Ralf Voellmer - Managing Director

Mr. Voellmer has worked on all major aspects of offshore investment companies for more than 18 years. He was a Vice President in the Asset Management Products group and the Mutual Funds group at Deutsche Bank in New York, where he worked on launching Deutsche Bank’s first hedge fund. While at Deutsche Bank, and then as a consultant, Mr. Voellmer introduced clients to nontraditional investment products and developed novel structures and solutions in on- and off-shore regulatory environments around the world. Most recently, he worked with media industry insiders to develop SAGA’s intellectual property financing model for securitization of film and music royalties. Mr. Voellmer has been a frequent speaker at specialized film financing and media forums in Los Angeles and New York, most recently at the NYSSA. Mr. Voellmer was a Fellow at The American University in Washington, DC, where he received his MBA in Finance in 1993, and a BA in International Affairs in 1987.

Jorge Barreda - Director

Mr. Barreda is a New York based investment banker with over 13 years international dealmaking experience. Over this period, he originated and managed over 20 billion dollars in international capital markets and finance transactions with corporate and sovereign clients in Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Transactions originated and managed by Mr. Barreda include a highly successful capital markets transaction for the Republic of Colombia, the re-profiling of the Republic of Uruguay’s external debt, the restructuring of the Dominican Republic’s external debt, the re-profiling of the Republic of Peru Paris Club obligations, and the structuring of leveraged acquisition finance for a group of Colombian investors in the energy sector. Previously, Mr. Barreda headed the Andean Region effort at UBS Investment Bank, where he was an Executive Director.  Prior to UBS, Mr. Barreda was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank, where he originated capital markets transactions. Mr. Barreda holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters Degree in Economics from Catholic University of Chile.
